I still chuckle when I think of the first time I finally got to meet her at Knitting Camp in June. I spied her across the room and tried very hard to look calm and cool and not embarrass myself by rushing over to greet her in a great, gushy rush of admiration. I decided to just make my way over in my own time, you know, just on my way to the kitchen or something. No need to rush.
That all went well and then I blew it by finally approaching her and telling her that the moment was "just like meeting a rock star." A knitting rock star, but a star nonetheless. That blew all my cool credibility, if I ever really had any. I'm a dork from way back.
Donna reckons her teenage daughter doesn't believe that story. But it's true.
Needless to say, when Donna came to town earlier this month, I was decidedly less gushy as a small group of us gathered in a cafe and knitted the afternoon away happily.
Most kindly, Donna gave me a little gift. A pick me up gift. I almost want to call it a 'pig me up' gift, if that didn't sound just a bit naff.
Aren't they cute? Little rubber piggies that are joined by elastic and fit on the end of your double pointed needles.

I adore them! Thank you, Donna!
Here's a close up of one of the piggies.
They also double as office amusement when you and your work buddy are delirious from overwork and need to have a giggle.

And that's all I've got to say for now because I am just half an hour or so from finishing the crochet cast off of my Pi Shawl. I'm both excited to finish this shawl and desperately excited to move onto the next project to finally start something for the Long, Lacy Summer knit along. I'm a bit spoiled for choice though.
