The Greatest View

What do you do when you're having a very, very fragile day and not feeling able to really cope with anything?

This is the prescription that worked for me yesterday.

You plant yourself on a blanket, made by your mum, on a nice patch of lawn in your own backyard with a gorgeous spray of sunny flowers (Sean says: weeds) spread out in front of you.

A bed of broad beans beside you.

You amuse yourself by trying to blow bubbles AND get a photo of said bubbles (thanks to Jejune!)

And since you're away from the computer (your lifeline) you bring other toys with you.

And then you spread your other necessities around you.

Then you drink beer, listen to Jane Austen (Persuasion), don your Rhode Island Rams cap (thanks to Amy) and proceed to unwind for the first time in weeks.

That went a long way to explaining why I feel somewhat more human today. Another important ingredient was an impromptu play date this afternoon with Jude. Check Jude out. She's a brand new refugee from Live Journal, and a fellow SnBer and Southern Summer of Socks participant with a wicked sense of humour.

And on top of all that, it's the October long weekend and you can't beat a long weekend in Spring.
